Proofing papers
PhotographyPhotography comes from the Greek words meaning 'light writing' and first became known back in 1839 by Sir John Herschel. For many years ..... Proofing is the intermediate stage between the submission of original copy (or artwork) to a printer and its final output. Unless it is purely textual it is important to see the proof in its final form.
Up till the late 1990's proofs for offset printing were generally made using photomechanical systems essentially producing the high cost final product in a minimal run. A typical page proof (on A3+) would cost about £35 or $60. Producing the proof on an inkjet paper can reduce the cost down to £2 or less. It is less labour intensive. Moreover the proof can be sited at the client's premises reducing transportation and turnaround time.
Incartek is helping Innova expand into proofing papers. Its current range has the right properties - superb colour rendition with a very wide gamut. Depending on your needs there are two base colours - high white and natural (warmtone) white. There are three finishes - semi-gloss, satin and matt. ICC profiles are available to work with the print engine, colour management software and RIP of your choice. If you sell OEM proofing papers or are involved with workflow systems, printers or RIPs then please contact proofing-papers@incartek.com.
