Cartridge Refilling: Can You Refill A Rock?
Before you begin refilling your inkjet cartridges bear in mind one thing, most inkjet cartridges have .....
What is Clivecart?
----------------------------

Introducing

Clivecart Spiral Flow

An ink cartridge design that

- avoids HP and Epson patents

- gives a uniform ink flow from full to empty.

- can usually support higher capacity cartridges

- can work with variety of liquids

- supports piezo and thermal print heads

UK Patents GB238981, 2368557

US and European

patents under application

Clivecart presents an innovative approach to the design of an inkjet cartridge.

Avoidance of patents

- The spiral fluid control is a unique design avoiding sponges, bellows, diaphragms, and specially shaped cartridges.

Even ink flow

Most cartridge designs require varying levels of suction, and underpressure to cause fluid to flow through the cartridge. This varies according to the amount of ink in the cartridge. Clivecart draws ink at a constant rate from full to empty. Less pressure on head leads to longer print head life.

Higher capacity

A larger amount of the cartridge can be used, and the size can often be increased to give more fluid per cartridge. Being sponge fee no ink is lost.

Wide range of ink types

Suitable for sublimation inks, textile inks etc.

Piezo and Thermal Print Heads

Clivecart is independent of print head and print control electronics. Indeed there are uses of the technology in other fluid control systems.

Where are we now?

Current status

Ink Cartridge Technologies (incartek) designed and demonstrated the cartridges to prototype level.

Three iterations completed 2000-2002

Incartek commissioned a manufacturing feasability study at Cambridge University

Successfully demonstrated under confidential disclosure to three manufacturing companies.

- all of this was completed in 2002, since when the project received no further funding.

Next moves

- Further funding

- License negotiation - on an exclusive or non-exclusive basis

- Further prototype work

- Pre-production

- Production
